A teenager known as "the macana brothers" was recaptured after escaping from a juvenile facility in La Plata and stealing a scale in the company of another 17-year-old criminal. He is Santino Etchepare, 16 years old, who escaped from a reformatory in the provincial capital and had an arrest warrant for aggravated homicide in connection with another crime.
The theft of the commercial scale was carried out by Etchepare and his accomplice AgustÃn Altamiranda, who were later identified and arrested by the police on the streets 5 and 54. The arrest warrant for Etchepare originated from a homicide that occurred in March 2024, where he and his father murdered a man named Rodolfo Sayam Munguia with knives.
After his capture, the relevant magistrates were informed, and the coordinator of the Childhood Program of the Commission against Memory presented herself at the police station. Etchepare has a history of various crimes, including theft, attempted theft, and resisting authority, while Altamiranda was arrested for questioning about a crime.
Together, Etchepare and "the macana brothers" have more than 100 entries into police stations in the last two years, showing a long criminal record.
